On behalf of all of us in the Harris Group may I wish you a happy, healthy and peaceful Christmas and extend our very best wishes for 2024.
This year, through our Christmas Box Fund, I am proud that we have been able to continue to support various organisations, with special emphasis on those who are most in need of help.
The Little Blue Heroes:
The Little Blue Heroes charity in conjunction with an Garda Siochana has been performing wonderful & commendable work, and Harris Group is delighted to be actively involved in supporting their impactful initiatives.
The Capuchin Day Centre:
Most of you are aware of the works undertaken by this centre. Whilst Bro Kevin has retired the centre is still operating on a daily basis, serving hot meals every day, both at breakfast and lunchtime and they also provide other necessary services i.e dental, medical and chiropody. They hand out thousands of food hampers at Christmastime.
Bluebell Food Bank:
An amazing group of volunteers who provide huge numbers of people with food, parcels and also provide the elderly within their community with meals and assist with essential works i.e. gardening, small odd jobs etc.
Feed our Homeless – Streets to Home:
This charity provides soup kitchens, food parcels and educational workshops and also walk the city of Dublin on a nightly basis providing _•food, sleeping bags etc. and a vital ‘listening ear’.
This year we in the Harris Group joined in the ‘Sleepout’ to raise vital monies for Focus Ireland who worked tirelessly for the homeless. A number of us slept outside the showrooms for the entire night and I am proud to state that we raised euro 160,000.00 for the charity.
Cork Youth Orchestra:
This Orchestra affords so much pleasure and joy to so many people and also raises funds for many charities – this year they raised euros for ‘Penny Dinners’ in Cork – a charity of our choice.
