A Christmas message from Harris Group CEO, Denise Harris

Harris Group electric vehicles

This year, Harris Group made significant progress towards a cleaner, greener and more sustainable future through the Harris Group’s rEVolution. Our Ev journey is really gathering pace in a year that saw us successfully add two new vehicles to our electric range and open a new centre of excellence in the UK.

We have great plans for 2023 and I look forward to continuing our EV journey in the months ahead.

This year, we also gave back to the community and supported a number of charities through our Christmas Box Fund. I am proud that we have been able to continue to support various charities/ organisations, especially those who are helping the most vulnerable in our society:

The Capuchin Day Centre This very well-known centre is run by the Capuchin Order who provides enormous care and support, on a daily basis, to so many people in our capital city.

Bluebell People’s Food Bank provides huge numbers of people with food parcels, not just in their own area but travelling both north and south of the country to meet the needs of those who require help with essential food provisions.

The Cork Youth Orchestra provide so much joy and cheer to so many people, both at charity functions and in more formal settings.

Street to Home was set up in 2017 by Tony Walsh and Natasha Morgan in Dublin’s City Centre. Tony was homeless for 18 years, sleeping rough, and in and out of emergency accommodation so he understands fully the daily struggle homeless people face. Not only does this charity provide soup kitchens, food parcels and educational workshops, they also walk the city of Dublin every night and provide food, sleeping bags etc. and most importantly a ‘listening ear’.

We donated a van to the Irish Blue Cross in memory of ‘Pino’ whose love of animals was so well known. ‘Blue Cross’ operate a mobile veterinary care service which travels to various locations to provide care for all animals who need attention. Their vision is to ensure that care is provided for all animals and pets so that they enjoy a healthy life despite the financial circumstances of their owners.

And finally, we donated a van so that The Irish Wheelchair Association would have the facility to collect large items of furniture, clothes etc. for their various charity shops within Dublin City and its environs.

I hope all my colleagues, customers, suppliers and friends enjoy the festive season and I would like to wish you a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous new year.

– Denise Harris, CEO Harris Group
