Harris Group

Message from our CEO regarding COVID-19

Denise Harris, CEO Harris Group

To all of our customers, colleagues and friends.

I write to you in testing times, but with confidence and resolve. No different to countless businesses, communities and families across the globe, the sudden and unprecedented rise of the novel coronavirus (Covid-19) has presented Harris Group with many challenges.

As a nominated ‘Essential Service Provider’, I am proud of how we have risen to meet those challenges, protecting as a priority the health and wellbeing of our employees, but also preserving the continuity of our business services for our essential services sector . The current crisis has thrown into sharp focus our duty of care towards each other, our responsibilities as a business and our collective interdependence. I offer a message of hope and reassurance, with the firm emphasis that the systems and safeguards we have in place and the measures we have taken to date – and will take as required – will see us through this crisis.

As I write this:

  • Our Harris Group corporate headquarters is officially closed, but we remain open for business, with home working in place for all of our staff.  For those who are required to be on site,  we have specific measures taken to ensure the health and safety of all present, including the implementation of clear social distancing guidelines, a greatly increased sanitation and disinfection regime and the exercise of a remote working policy for all team members who wish to avail.

  • Our Parts Distribution Centre remains open. To facilitate our role as an essential services provider, an amended roster regime enables us to promptly fill and despatch all orders while maintaining the necessary safeguards for our staff. Our parts supply lines are to date largely unaffected and thanks to our considerable investment in stock we continue to offer the same prompt turnaround and delivery as always.

  • Our After Sales team also remains in place, with representatives at your disposal for consultation by telephone or email. Our workshop also remains functional for service and repair of vehicles linked to our essential services sector, including key supply chains – again with all appropriate measures in place to safeguard our team of mechanics and engineers.

  • Our supplier network is largely unaffected, with our partners in China and elsewhere continuing to deliver vehicles according to pre-coronavirus schedules. Should this or any of the above change, we pledge to keep you informed.

The crisis has prompted changes at Harris Group as it has everywhere it has reached, but not all of these are negative. We are, for example, happy to assist An Garda Siochána through the provision of temporary storage space for vehicles that will enter public service in the coming weeks. Meanwhile a surge in online shopping has led to increased demand for delivery fleet vehicles partners, which we are pleased to be strongly positioned to fulfil.

We understand that this is a difficult time for business. Negotiating those difficulties has occupied the greater part of our time these past days. That said, we remain here for you.

Should you require further information, or assistance in relation to working with Harris Group, please don’t hesitate to speak to us directly.

Together, we will work through this.

With best regards,

Denise Harris

CEO
